Car Enthusiasts from the Dominican Republic visit the VW Museum of Puerto Rico
The Volkswagen Museum of Puerto Rico in Yauco received its first official international visit last Saturday, November 14, 2009, when representatives from the CDAA organization attended a special viewing of the collection. CDAA stands for "Coleccionistas Dominicanos de Autos Antiguos", which in English translates to "Dominican Collectors of Antique Automobiles".
The group from the neighbor island had made arrangements ahead of time to use their trip to the Vintage Car Show in Isabela the same week-end, to enjoy Dr. Norman's collection.

Details for the visit were handled by Mr. Anibal Aquino, President of the organizing group for the activity in Isabela, and the Museum's Luis Mariano Muñoz, to allow the eager and enthusiastic group a chance to witness the largest Volkswagen collection in the World.

The group got off to a late start on Saturday, but nevertheless had plenty of time to enjoy the special guided tour provided by Luis Mariano, as a courtesy from Dr. Norman himself. A usual, the tour starts with the Mexican Last Edition, Herbie, the Military Vehicles and progresses through the entire main building exhibition.
The group received a special treat, as they were allowed into the not yet finished building number two, to take a look at over thirty more vehicles that wait for floor assignment.
The Dominicans were well versed into the history of the Volkswagen, and shared many stories on the VW tradition in their country.
Goodbyes were said, and promises made for a future visit of a larger group to the Museum, and a return visit from Dr. Norman and the Museum staff to the beautiful Dominican Republic.
